PROdb Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Enabling and using MFA to protect your PROdb account
On this page 3
We strongly recommend PROdb clients enable 2FA for their users, whether on the pro.dbflex.net domain or a custom domain. Two-factor authentication provides protection if your password is ever leaked. Once enabled, an additional 6-digit code is required to confirm login.
Enabling 2FA
2FA is enabled in the "Manage Users" section, either per user or in bulk after selecting multiple users.
Ways of Using 2FA
There are three ways users can leverage two-factor authentication with PROdb:
- TMC App (recommended) — Users with the TeamDesk Mobile Client app can tap a popup and link to FaceID or other biometrics for seamless login.
- Email code — For users not using TMC, a code is sent via email. Click "Send New Code" on the login screen if needed.
- TOTP authenticator app — For users with apps like Codebook, 1Password, or Google Authenticator: visit user preferences (upper right → click username → select), check "show pairing code for authenticator apps", and store the TOTP code in your authenticator.
Typical Login Process
With the TMC app paired:
- In a web browser, enter your email and password as usual. A "Code" screen appears — no action needed.
- Unlock your phone. The TMC app will show a popup which can be tapped to log in. On first use, allow FaceID for convenience. Subsequently, just tap and authenticate.
- PROdb will automatically switch from the "Code" screen to your normal start screen.
Users should keep the TMC app updated. Note that popups may be suppressed by "Focus" or "Do Not Disturb" settings on your phone.
